Mitchell Marsh falls short of a fifty, gets dismissed by Mukesh Kumar

Mukesh Kumar looked solid with the ball in the match against LSG, and he kept bowling brilliant lines and lengths throughout his 4-over spell.

He kept the Lucknow Super Giants batters under pressure, making sure to provide Delhi Capitals with crucial breakthroughs at regular intervals.

Mukesh picked his first wicket by dismissing Abdul Samad on the second ball of the 14th over, and in the last ball of the same over, he castled Mitchell Marsh with an amazing delivery.

Mukesh Kumar delivered a searing yorker swinging to Mitchell Marsh, who opened the face of his bat and tried to carve it behind square on the off-side but was late on it. He got beaten, and the ball crashed into the off-stump.

Mukesh also picked two more wickets and finished the spell with his best bowling figures in the history of the Indian Premier League (4/33).

He is living the dream – Aaron Finch on Mitchell Marsh

During a discussion on ESPNcricinfo ahead of the match, the former Australia skipper Aaron Finch said that Mitchell Marsh, who scored 45 off 36 against DC, is having a dream run in the IPL.

He revealed that Marsh enjoys opening the batting in T20 cricket and opined that the combination of Marsh and Pooran is a great one for the Lucknow Super Giants. Finch said:

“He is living the dream. I guess somebody who is not as mobile as some of the youngsters in the field and he is not able to bowl at the moment, it is a no-brainer, absolutely. At the same time, he loves opening the batting and it is an opportunity that he has got reasonably recently in T20 cricket.

“Two out, he has got so much power. He is a very, very good player of fast bowling. You combine that, if you lose an early wicket and you get Marsh and Pooran together, you cannot bowl spin to Pooran early and you struggle to bowl pace at different times to Marsh.

“They are actually a great combination when they are batting together and can take the game away from an opposition really quick. He just looks content with how he is playing. Anything half short, he is just smacking it over the leg side. He is using his strength and his power to his advantage.”
