Abishek Porel started the IPL 2025 with a duck, and after tha,t he hasn’t looked back. The keeper-batter recently slammed a magnificent half-century in the Delhi Capitals’ most recent game against Lucknow Super Giants and helped his team win their 6th game of the season.
Porel played a brilliant innings of 51 runs off 36 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 141 and also slammed five boundaries and 1 six that ensured that Delhi Capitals chased the target of 160 runs with 13 balls to spare.

Porel has registered scores of 0, 34*, 33, 7, 33, 49, 18, and 51 in the IPL 2025. And with the kind of performances that he has put in, he has set his sights on playing for the India National Cricket Team.
Porel said that he is enjoying his time in the IPL and is trying to develop with each innings. He also talked about his ambition of winning the title with Delhi Capitals this year. Speaking to reporters, he explained:
“Obviously, I am enjoying every innings, trying to develop in every innings. The future plan is to play for India, play for the country for a long period. But the current focus is the IPL trophy, and how can I help the team in winning the trophy, how can I contribute for DC. This matters a lot right now.”

Porel also talked about the freedom that he has gained from the support staff of the Delhi Capitals team. He said that they know his game and allow him to play freely. He added:
“I know my game and the support staff also knows that. They always tell me to play freely and not to take any tension,”
Porel was the third-highest run-getter for Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2024. The left-hander slammed 327 runs at a strike rate of 159.51 and would be keen to make an even better impact this time around.
