Later, the UltraEdge showed no contact between the bat and ball or pad. The incident left one and all stunned, with many former cricketers slamming Ishan Kishan for not waiting for the umpire and the MI team’s call, while some have raised suspicion about the whole episode.
As social media exploded with replays and theories, Junaid Khan made things spicier by quote-tweeting the viral footage and hinting at foul play, suggesting that there is something fishy. Sharing that moment’s clip on his X handle, Junaid captioned the post: “Daal mein kuch kala hai…”

Could the umpire have called Ishan Kishan back?
Meanwhile, the umpire could have called Ishan back after the replay confirmed there was no contact with the ball. The rules say the umpire can stop play and call the batter back if he believes the batter walked off by mistake. This is done by calling a “dead ball” and recalling the batter.
MCC’s Law 31.7 states, “An umpire shall intervene if satisfied that a batter, not having been given out, has left the wicket under a misapprehension of being out. The umpire intervening shall call and signal dead ball to prevent any further action by the fielding side and shall recall the batter.
A batter may be recalled at any time up to the instant when the ball comes into play for the next delivery, unless it is the final wicket of the innings, in which case it should be up to the instant when the umpires leave the field.”

Rohit Sharma takes MI home with ease against the SRH
