After the no handshake controversy, which took over the India vs Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2025, former Pakistani skipper Shahid Afridi has made an awful remark against not only the Indian team but also the entire nation.
After the Pahalgam attacks, India launched a military operation against the Pakistani militant groups and destroyed several militant camps. The attack was named ‘Operation Sindoor.’ This in turn was retaliated against by the Pakistan forces in the form of the Bunyan Marsoos, an operation on the Indian military bases.
The Asia Cup participation for India was put under severe doubt since the attacks had strained the political relations between the two nations.

No Handshake Controversy has not been accepted well by the PCB
Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav did not land on the same page as the Pakistan skipper Salman Agha, as the batter, alongside his partner Shivam Dube, left the field immediately after the end of the run chase.
India defeated Pakistan in a very comfortable manner; however, several feats at the Dubai International Stadium led to an immense stir among the fans from both sides. The anticipation surrounding the game was already less, as several seats were left vacant in the stadium.
After the controversy, the PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi has complained to the ICC and asked for action to be taken against the Match referee. They have also pressured the International body by threatening them with a boycott of further games in the Asia Cup.
After May 10, the world saw Pakistan’s power – Shahid Afridi
Following the snub of the handshake from the Indian players, former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi once again slammed the Indian players.
He started this since the India Champions humiliated the Pakistan Champions in the World Championship of Legends by willingly withdrawing from even a semi-final match and handing a walkover to the opposition as a aftermath of the Pahalgam attack.
“After May 10, the world saw Pakistan’s power & saw India being humiliated. India had become a joke in front of the world. That was something India could not tolerate,” said Shahid Afridi on Samaa TV.
Shahid Afridi had earlier triggered controversy ahead of the India vs Pakistan clash
Just before the onset of the Asia Cup 2025, Shahid Afridi, the all-rounder who has always been known to create controversies, had taken a dig at the India vs Pakistan clash in the Asia Cup.
“I have always said that cricket should go on; it has always helped in making the relations better between the two countries. In England, people had bought tickets to see the WCL match, and the players had practised. Then you didn’t play. What was the thinking? I just can’t understand,” Afridi said on Samaa TV.
Afridi had insulted several Indian players publicly, and after the Asia Cup 2025, he has resorted to a similar form of derogatory remarks on social media.
