UAE won by 42 runs against Oman; Pakistan’s Super-4 threatened
The United Arab Emirates had come from a humiliating loss to the Men in Blue in their first Asia Cup encounter. However, Muhammad Waseem’s team never looked demotivated to register their first win.
Coming in to bat first, the UAE openers batted stunningly, scoring half-centuries and giving their team a great start. The skipper was the pick of the batters, as he also reached a milestone of 3000 T20 runs. UAE posted a strong 172 runs in their 20 overs.
Coming in to bowl, the UAE’s most experienced pacer, Junaid Siddique, struck alongside the other bowlers and soon half of the Oman batters were back into the pavilion. Though they managed to squeeze some runs in the middle, the game never slipped away from the hosts.
They bowled out Oman for just 130 runs and registered a staggering 42-run victory, which revived their chances to qualify for the Super-4 stage.
Will PCB consider boycotting the match against the UAE?
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a clear stance on their disgust over the disgraceful behaviour from the Indian cricketers in the match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025.
They have clarified that they demand that serious actions be taken against the Match referee, and if the ICC does not consider their plea, then they will have to resort to boycotting the upcoming match against the UAE.
If Pakistan does not play the next game, it would be a great opportunity for the unofficial host side, as they would qualify for the Super-4 stage uncontested, and Pakistan, on the other hand, would be eliminated.
