The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Ajinkya Rahane took an exceptional catch to dismiss the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) top-order batter Ishan Kishan on Thursday, April 3.
The 15th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Sunrisers Hyderabad is currently underway at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Ishan Kishan bags yet another failure
Kishan started off the journey with his new Indian Premier League franchise – Sunrisers Hyderabad – on a high as he slammed a brutal century.
However, since then, he has been unable to fire with the bat, registering scores of 0, 2, and 2. His latest failure came against the Kolkata Knight Riders as he was cleaned up by the right-arm pacer Vaibhav Arora in the 3rd over of the innings.
On the first ball of the over, Vaibhav Arora bowled a fuller delivery to Ishan Kishan and the batter tried to drive it uppishly to covers. The KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane was stationed there and he sprung towards his left and took an absolutely sensational catch.

We’re not the team that plays for 140s and 150s – Nitish Kumar Reddy
Speaking ahead of the match to broadcasters, Nitish Kumar Reddy said that Sunrisers Hyderabad is not a team that aims to register scores of 140-150 as they always target huge scores. While talking about his form with the bat, he said that he has been trying too much. He said:
“Absolutely, last year they showed faith in me, it’s time for me to stand up, perform and make the situation better for the team. Nothing, we’ve been trying too much, just keep it simple like last year.
“Personally, I was trying too much, just need to keep calm and take the game on, that’s the team plan, as you know, we’re not the team that plays for 140s and 150s, we know the batting style, we might flop some matches, but hopefully we’ll have a better day today, it’s about the 1-2-3 setting up the platform for the rest of the batting group.”
Nitish Kumar Reddy further said that he hasn’t got the opportunity to bowl a lot in the ongoing season but wants to contribute with bat and on the field as much as possible. He said:
“I haven’t bowled a lot, looking at my batting and fielding, I want to save as many runs as possible and score as much as possible with the bat.”
