Despite the India vs Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2025, the Dubai International Cricket Stadium witnessed several empty seats, marking the boycott of the contest due to the political tensions between the two nations.
India clashed against Pakistan in the much-awaited contest of the Asia Cup 2025. This was the second match for both teams, after they both started with commanding wins. India won the first game in a dominating fashion and took a major lead in the points table, while Pakistan, on the other hand, have also won by a huge margin.
Whatever the result of the fixture between the two rivals may be, both India and Pakistan will be able to qualify for the Asia Cup 2025 Super-4 if they win more than two matches each.

Due to political tensions building between the Indian and Pakistani Cricket fans, there has been immense outrage shown by the people of India in the aftermath of the terror attacks in the Pehalgam valley.
As a result of this outrage, there have been several empty seats noted in the stands of the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Several tickets reportedly went unsold for the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan match.
The Times of India report had confirmed that the India vs Pakistan tickets went unsold to an extent, as the stadium has a capacity of around 25000. However, the reports were ruled out by the Emirates Cricket Board.
The match between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 is the first time the two nations have contested on the cricket field since the incidents in April and May. They had previously featured in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
“While some areas of the stadium are filled, many upper tiers and other stands remain vacant, a stark contrast to the usual sell-out crowds for this rivalry,” said one user on X.
“Let me assure you: never in my life have I seen a stadium so empty, that too for an Indo-Pak match,” commented another.
“Seats are empty for the first time in an India-Pakistan match,” posted a third user.
India dominate Pakistan in thrilling Asia Cup contest
India, despite all odds, agreed to take on Pakistan in an Asia Cup contest on the 14th of September at the Dubai International Stadium. Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav showcased a clear mindset of non-cooperation from the toss itself.
Salman Agha won the toss and came into bat first. However, Surya seemed happy despite getting to bowl first. Indian bowlers once again did a startling job. With two quick wickets within the power play, followed by a crushing spell from the Indian spinners.
Kuldeep Yadav (3), Axar Patel (2), and Varun Chakravarthy (1) all bowled some stunning spells. Later, the Indian batters had a great start, with Abhishek Sharma taking them off to a flyer.
Despite some fall of wickets and a slow rate of scoring in the middle overs, the skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma absorbed the pressure and handled the situation to take India over the line in the modest chase.
