Rohit Sharma came up with an interesting reaction to one of Hardik Pandya’s captaincy calls during the ongoing game between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Wankhede Stadium.

The match started on a promising note for Hardik Pandya and his team. The Mumbai Indians captain won the toss and opted to bowl first. His decision was justified in the very first over with Trent Boult dismissing the in-form Phil Salt for just 4 runs.

However, Mumbai Indians failed to capitalize on the early breakthrough as Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal steadied the ship for RCB and laid the foundation for a big total. They launched a stunning counterattack and put RCB in the driver’s seat.

At the end of the powerplay, RCB had raced away to 73 runs for the loss of one wicket. Immediately after the powerplay ended, Hardik Pandya decided to introduce left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner into the attack.

As he was signaling with his left hand, seemingly asking Santner to bowl the seventh over, the cameras turned towards the Mumbai Indians dressing room where Rohit Sharma was sitting alongside batting coach Kieron Pollard.

And the former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma came up with an interesting reaction. He made a gesture with his right hand, seemingly indicating that he was not impressed with Pandya’s call.

Santner did bowl a decent first over. The New Zealand star could not take a wicket but conceded only 8 runs in his first over. Talking about the game, RCB were on 112/2 after 12 overs at the time of writing this report. Kohli was batting on 60 while captain Rajat Patidar was unbeaten on 12.

Young left-arm spinner Vignesh Puthur gave Mumbai Indians the much-needed breakthrough by ending the partnership between Kohli and Padikkal. Puthur dismissed Padikkal for 37 runs to end the 91-run stand.

RCB have got a good start with the bat and they will look to finish their innings with a 200-plus total. The Bengaluru-based outfit will be keen to win the ongoing game to return to winning ways. Just like RCB, Mumbai Indians also lost their last game and are eyeing a much-needed win.
