Lucknow Super Giants player Shahbaz Ahmed talked about Rishabh Pant’s poor form in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He said that the skipper of the team is in a good mood, and they have full confidence in him.
Lucknow Super Giants skipper Rishabh Pant is having a tough time with the bat in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The left-hander has failed in all four games while batting at number four, and this has raised many eyebrows, especially with him being the skipper of the team.
Rishabh Pant, who is the most expensive player in the IPL, has looked scratchy with the bat and for his poor outings, he has faced a lot of criticism. The keeper-batter hasn’t been at his best and is one of the few reasons why the team lost their two games.
Rishabh Pant started the league with a 6-ball duck against Delhi Capitals and then scored just 15 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the game against Punjab Kings, he scored just 2 runs and had the same fate in the game against Mumbai Indians.

With Rishabh Pant, under massive pressure, Shahbaz Ahmed has backed the skipper to come out good. He said that left-hander is working very hard on his batting in nets and they are confident that he will come good in nets. Speaking to reporters, he said (as quoted by RevSportz):
“His mood is really good. He is the same as before. We have full confidence in him that he will perform in a crunch situation. He is working very hard on his batting.”

Shahbaz Ahmed also addressed the injury concerns that Lucknow Super Giants had, saying that it was a great opportunity for young bowlers to show their talent. He also stressed that they are now confident going ahead and they don’t discuss economy rates. He added:
“Yes, it was a concern, but for new bowlers like Prince and Akash, it is a great chance for them. For new bowlers, it is a great opportunity. Now everyone is fit. Akash is here, Avesh is fit. Mayank will be fit soon. We don’t discuss a lot about the Economy rate.”

Lucknow Super Giants spinner Digvesh Rathi has come under massive scanner for his celebrations after taking wickets. He gave a send-off to Priyansh Arya in the game against Punjab Kings and then also came up with similar notebook celebrations against Mumbai Indians.
While talking about his celebrations, Shahbaz Ahmed said that since the spinner is on the verge of suspension, he shouldn’t repeat it. He added:
“Priyansh Arya is his very good friend..he did on a friendly note but since he is on the verge of suspension, I hope he doesn’t repeat it.”
