Star Pakistan National Cricket Team player Shaheen Afridi showcased a batting masterclass in the Asia Cup 2025 match against the India National Cricket Team.
The Suryakumar Yadav-led India and Salman Agha-led Pakistan are currently locking horns with each other in the sixth match of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Stadium.
Shaheen Afridi turns destroyer with the bat
Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first in the match. They displayed an awful batting performance and looked absolutely clueless while facing the supreme bowlers of the Indian team.

No Pakistan batter looked in control against the Indian bowlers, and the spinners further choked the run-scoring from both ends. However, things significantly changed on the arrival of Shaheen Afridi in the middle.
The left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi is known for playing some explosive strokes down the order, and he did exactly that against India. Afridi looked by far the best batter against India and slammed 33 runs off 16 balls, with four maximums, taking Pakistan to 127/9.
Shaheen Afridi smashed Kuldeep Yadav for a six on the second ball he faced and then hit Varun Chakravarthy for another six in the 18th over.
Then, in the 20th over, Shaheen Afridi slammed back-to-back sixes against Hardik Pandya, which forced Suryakumar Yadav and the all-rounder, along with other players, to form a huddle for a small discussion.
India legend Sunil Gavaskar was surprised seeing Shaheen Afridi’s explosive batting, and he urged Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson to promote the pacer in the batting order.
“This guy deserves a promotion next time because he showed what needed to be done. Those are just massive sixes…massive!” Sunil Gavaskar said.

When the government has given permission, then what is the problem? – Madan Lal
Speaking to ANI, former cricketer Madan Lal slammed those who questioned the integrity of the Indian players for playing against Pakistan, saying that the government has given permission. He elaborated:
“Whenever there is a match between India and Pakistan, politics starts. When the government has given permission, then what is the problem? Secondly, we are the host.
“The host cannot tell Pakistan not to come. Like our BCCI had taken the decision that we will not go to Pakistan, Pakistan should think whether they want to play or not. We are the hosts, so it is the duty of the host to invite. What happened in Pahalgam makes us sad too…”
“You should give a befitting reply to what they did, like we have given… But let me tell you one thing: Pakistan is not going to change. Pakistan will remain the same… The match cannot be avoided. So many people are involved in it… whose livelihood depends on it…”
