LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka was involved in a fiery chat with the team’s captain Rishabh Pant after their defeat to Punjab Kings at Lucknow. Goenka was visibly pointing his finger towards Pant as the former was disappointed with his team’s performance.
Sanjiv Goenka didn’t stop here and also gave a special hug to Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer and praised his performance. Iyer had a fantastic day as a captain and also as a batter, as he scored his second half-century in a row.

Sanjiv Goenka was seen having an animated chat with Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant. Goenka also pointed his finger towards Pant a no. of times during the conversation as the latter was seen listening to him.
Goenka was assisted by his wife, Preeti Goenka was also listening to the whole conversation. After seeing the LSG team owner in such a mood, the fans feared a repeat of last year’s incident involving KL Rahul.
After LSG’s thrashing defeat to SRH in Lucknow last year, Sanjiv Goenka was seen in a highly intense conversation with then-captain KL Rahul. The animated conversation between the two of them was caught on live TV, and Goenka had to face the wrath of a no. of fans.

Sanjiv Goenka’s special meeting with Shreyas Iyer
After the match, Goenka also walked up to Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer to congratulate and applaud him on his performance. Goenka hugged Iyer, who scored a blistering half-century to take his team to an emphatic win.
Iyer smashed an unbeaten 52 off 30 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes. He carried on from where he left in the last game and remained unbeaten for the second successive time. He is currenlty the second-highest run-scorer of the team with 149 runs without having been dismissed.
Iyer was signed for INR 26.75 crore by Punjab Kings. He was the most expensive player in IPL history for a few minutes before Rishabh Pant was signed by Lucknow Super Giants for INR 27 crore in the same auction.

Punjab Kings thrash LSG
Punjab Kings put up a strong show against the home team LSG at Lucknow and dismantled their opposition. LSG scored 171-7 in the first innings on the back of crucial knocks from Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, Aiden Markram, and Abdul Samad.
However, none of them could get a big score, and LSG were reduced to a below-par total. Punjab’s bowlers were disciplined enough and hunted in pairs, with Arshdeep Singh leading the pack with three wickets to his name.
In reply, Punjab Kings chased down the total with 8 wickets in hand and 22 balls remaining. Wicketkeeper-batter Prabhsimran Singh struck 69 off just 34 deliveries while Iyer also smashed a magnificent fifty of his own. Nehal Wadhera remained unbeaten on 43 off just 25 balls alongside his captain.
