The 4th edition of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) is set to usher in a new wave of excitement with a fresh infusion of Indian talent from September 6. This year, the tournament will feature a blend of international pedigree, franchise success and domestic promise, with three Indian cricketers, Shreyanka Patil, Shikha Pandey and the uncapped Salonee Dangore, poised to leave their mark on the global stage.

3. Salonee Dangore: Trinbago Knight Riders

Salonee, an uncapped leg-spin all-rounder from Chhattisgarh, is set to make her WCPL debut with the Trinbago Knight Riders, a testament to her rapid rise in domestic cricket. Her ascent has been nothing short of impressive; she led Chhattisgarh’s bowling attack in the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy 2024, finishing as the leading wicket-taker with 15 wickets in 6 matches.

She’s sharp. She’s fearless. She’s ours. ❤️

Her T20 record is equally strong, with 31 wickets at a phenomenal average of 17.52 and an economy rate of 5.32 in 36 innings. With the bat, she has shown her all-round capabilities by scoring 103 runs in 16 innings. Her professional growth has been acknowledged at the highest level, as she was a net bowler for the Delhi Capitals in WPL 2025. The WCPL will offer Dangore a global platform to showcase her immense talent and potentially announce herself as the next big thing in Indian cricket.

2. Shikha Pandey: Trinbago Knight Riders

Veteran all-rounder Shikha Pandey brings a wealth of experience and adaptability to the Trinbago Knight Riders, who have re-signed her after a promising debut in the previous WCPL season. Pandey played a crucial role for TKR in 2024, picking up 4 wickets in 5 matches at an average of 29.75 and an economy of 6.80. Her contributions were not limited to her bowling; she also scored 90 runs at a strike rate of 92.78.

Wickets, experience, and unmatched control 🤌

On the international stage, Pandey has been a reliable presence for Team India, with 43 wickets in 56 T20I innings. In the WPL, she has been a mainstay for the Delhi Capitals, claiming 30 wickets in 27 matches. Expanding her horizons, Pandey made her Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) debut in the 2024/25 season, where she took 12 wickets in 12 innings. Her proven ability to adapt to different conditions and her dual role as a bowler and lower-order batter make her an invaluable asset for TKR’s campaign this season.

1. Shreyanka Patil: Barbados Royals

Shreyanka’s name is already etched in WCPL history as the first Indian woman to participate in the league, and her much-anticipated return marks a significant moment. After missing the 2024 season, she has been signed by the defending champions, the Barbados Royals, setting the stage for a dramatic comeback. Her 2023 campaign was a masterclass in bowling, as she finished as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 9 wickets in just 5 matches, bowling at an exceptional average of 11.66 and a remarkable economy of just 5.83.

Shreyanka famously produced a four-wicket haul, underlining her knack for delivering in crunch moments. On the international stage, she has taken 20 T20I wickets across 16 innings for India. In the Women’s Premier League (WPL) with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Patil claimed 19 wickets in 15 matches, including two four-wicket hauls. Her all-round skills, including a blazing strike rate of 147.27 with the bat in the WPL, position her as a pivotal figure in the Royals’ title defence.
