Yashasvi Jaiswal takes a U-turn from his Goa move; requests MCA to withdraw NOC

YPBB NewsBy YPBB NewsMay 10, 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

In a surprising twist, India’s rising star Yashasvi Jaiswal has had a change of heart regarding his domestic cricket allegiance. After previously seeking a shift from Mumbai to Goa starting the 2025–26 season, the left-handed batter has now officially requested the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to revoke the No Objection Certificate (NOC) that had cleared his move.

Yashasvi Jaiswal reverses decision to join Goa

Jaiswal, a product of Mumbai’s robust domestic cricket system, had earlier communicated his intent to join Goa and had already secured an NOC from the MCA. Reports even suggested that Goa had offered him a leadership role, further making his move seem definitive.

However, in an unexpected development, the 22-year-old has reached out to the MCA once again, this time with a formal request to withdraw the NOC. In an email to the association, Jaiswal clarified that the initial decision was influenced by family relocation plans, which are no longer in place.

“I, the undersigned, would request your goodself to consider my request to withdraw my NOC given to me as I had some family plans in shifting to Goa, which for now has been curtailed! So, I sincerely request MCA to allow me to play for Mumbai this season. I have not submitted the NOC to BCCI nor to the Goa Cricket Association,” wrote Jaiswal in the e-mail as quoted by Cricbuzz.

MCA yet to respond on Jaiswal’s request

The ball is now in the MCA’s court. Officials have not yet responded to Jaiswal’s email and are reportedly consulting both the BCCI and the Goa Cricket Association to understand the procedural implications of revoking an already-issued NOC.

Given that the NOC has not yet been forwarded to either the BCCI or the GCA, there may still be room for a reversal—though clarity from higher authorities will be crucial before any formal decision is made.
