Union Cabinet Minister of External affairs and former Indian Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar will be a member of the delegation accredited to attending Donald John Trump’s inauguration ceremony as the President of the USA scheduled for January 20. This will be the swearing in of Trump as the 47th president of the United States of America.
This development was confirmed by the MEA as well, as they said, “On the invitation of Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee, External Affairs Minister Dr.S Jaishankar will attend the ceremony on behalf of India.”
The current live is an endeavor of Dr. Jaishankar to fortify the already sound diplomatic partnership between India and the U.S. While in the country, he is expected to hold negotiations with major actors of the new U.S. administration in order to improve the existing relations between the two countries.
It will also give a platform for Dr. Jaishankar to interact with other international dignitaries who will be present in the ceremony. This visit runs to prove that India under its new leadership is keen to enhance relations with the United States.
