Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) leader had shouted with a loud speaker against Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi while was fasting at Gandhi Maidan where Patna Police detained him early Monday. Kishor who has been protesting sit-in since Thursday against alleged unfair means indulged by BPSC candidates in the 70th combined (preliminary) competitive test held on December 13 was bundled into an ambulance and shifted to AIIMS.

Another video that went viral in the internet showed some senior police officers assaulting Kishor while people in the background chanted ‘Vande Mataram’. The protest was declared unlawful by the district administration, and Kishor and around 150 people associated with JSP were named in an FIR. Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh later on said that protests were only allowed to be held at the Gardan Bagh site.

Kishor had sought Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and RJD MLA Tejashwi Yadav’s support and explained that the protest was non-political. Our young ones are on the line here.” This is the time to rise against the regime that has authorised 87 lathi charges in three years, he quipped.

As for the exclusion of BJP leaders from the possibility to join the movement, Kishor only welcomed anyone who acts according to his conscience.

The issue of discussion is pinpointed on an alleged paper leak on the occasion of the 70th BPSC preliminary exam, something the commission has dismissed. A new test was carried out for 12,000 candidates and out of them only 5,943 showed up on Saturday.

Shoru of Prashant Kishor contributed to the developing dissatisfaction in relation to the BPSC examination and the governments actions regarding protests, as politicians and the public consider the consequences of the actions for Bihar and the young population.
