Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna has been reigning the domestic box office, extending ow its blockbuster run even a month after its release. The Sukumar directed movie still has audiences across the nation hooked to its screens.
It was collecting an amount of ₹725.8 crore in the first week, ₹264.8 crore in the second week, ₹129.5 crore in third week and ₹69.65 crore in the fourth week. In its fifth weekend, it collected ₹3.75 crore on Friday and ₹5.5 crore on Saturday and Sunday, ₹7 crore. By Sunday, the fifth, Pushpa 2 had grossed ₹ 1,206 crore in India.
In breakdowns of the figures, the Hindi version accounts for ₹791.2 crore and the Telugu version for ₹334.76 crore. The collections from Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions were ₹58.16 crore, ₹14.15 crore and ₹7.73 crore respectively. Trade portal Sacnilk reported theatrical occupancy for the movie’s Hindi shows at 21.71% and Telugu shows at 17.61%.
The Hindi version of Pushpa: The Rule will not be breaking any records, but the dubbed Tamil Telugu version got a net of ₹806 crore in 31 days as declared by Mythri Movie Makers. The film’s breakaway performance makes it one of the top Indian films in terms of the box office of all time along side Jawan, Pathaan, Gadar 2, Baahubali 2, KGF Chapter 2,Animal.
A sequel to the 2021 hit Pushpa: The Rise, the storyline revolves around the life of Pushpa Raj, who is a sandalwood mafia supplier who hails from the hills of Andhra Pradesh, dealing with police opposition and a fierce rival SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. The movie will have the presence of actors, like Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, Anasuya Bhardwaj, and Sunil.
Released globally on December 5, 2024, in multiple languages, Pushpa 2: The Rule does what it has always done best in the world of Indian cinema and keeps the audience hooked.
