The Supreme Court on Tuesday allowed Asaram Bapu, 85-years, imprisoned for life over the issue of raping a woman, on interim medical bail. The bail term till March 31, means, Asaram must continue to stay in Jodhpur’s Arogya Medical Centre for treatment. The court allowed release on strict supervision with security personnel,and barred him from communicating with his followers during such release period. Asaram, a man convicted of heart complication and used to have heart attack, has been imprisoned in Jodhpur Central Jail.
